Hiking:

The area offers abundant opportunities for hiking through pristine fynbos. There are many easy walks close to the guest house.

 

For the more adventurous, a hike up one of the surrounding mountains will offer breathtaking views.
 


Namaqualand flowers:

Namaqualand's flowers are world-renowned and visitors from all over the world flock here in spring (August to September) to take in the splendour.

 

Besides huge carpets of the more common species, those willing to walk the veld will encounter countless other species to make this an experience of a lifetime.
 


Common buzzard (Buteo vulpinus)

Blacksmith Lapwing (Vanellus armatus)Bird watching:

A large number of bird species have been recorded and birdwatchers will certainly not be disappointed.

 

The area is unspoilt and sightings of the majestic Verreaux's eagle (Aquila verreauxii), Martial eagle (Polemaetus bellicosus) and Secretarybird (Sagittarius serpentarius) are frequent.
 


Horse riding:

A horse is available for those wanting to explore the surrounds on horseback.
 


Farm tour:

Kleinvlei farm is a working farm and your hosts Buks and Carina will gladly arrange tours on request so that you can see what farming in this area is all about.

 

Children will enjoy assisting in milking the cow or feeding orphaned lambs.
